Up And At Em!

This last Sunday morning started a little earlier than usual here at the Hurley house. Our Little Man woke up around 5:15 because he kept coughing, a dry cough that wouldn't go away. Since he was up and unable to fall back asleep, we were all up and getting ready for our day before the sun came up.

Sunday was also a VERY wet morning. We had thunderstorms and quite a bit of rain before noon (we are definitely not complaining). Since we had an early breakfast and showers we were able to just enjoy some time together. We haven't had a day like that in a very long time, we either have something to do, somewhere to go, or Hubby is gone working cattle or helping out somebody else.

Since Parker hadn't got to experiment with the Do-A-Dot markers he got for Easter, I decided to pull them out and let him have a little fun. HE LOVES THEM!

I went straight to my Pinterest boards to find some of the sheets I had pinned to do with the Do-A-Dots.
(These farm animal sheets can be found here.)

We also pulled out the trusty, ole Play-Doh. The knife in the photo below is PLASTIC, don't worry!! :) It seems like we are always getting gifts of Play-Doh. This is completely okay with me, sometimes lids don't get shut all the way and we end up with hard rocks of Play-Doh the next time we get it out to play.

(Our art tray came from Hobby Lobby I believe - a dollar store cookie sheet would also contain the mess)

(Parker uses these, plastic cookie cutters, I got many moons ago for Christmas)

(We store all of our Play-Doh and accessories in this photo box that my grandmother gave me about 4 years ago)
I hope everybody else enjoyed their weekend!

Easter Weekend

***sorry about the quality of the photo, my phone is due for an upgrade, soon!***
We spent the entire Easter weekend outdoors and enjoying family time.

On Saturday, my little man and I picked up grandma and headed to town to get some mulch and flowers/plants for the yard.
In the afternoon we walked over to the park for the community Easter Egg Hunt! After the park, we went out to my Aunt Jeannie's to dye Easter eggs and had some fun playing outside. Parker got to ride his 4-wheeler so he was pretty excited! In the evening, the kids did a glow in the dark egg hunt. Aunt Jeannie filled plastic eggs with glow sticks and hid them in a large tent, they had a blast!

After church Sunday we headed back out to Aunt Jeannie's for Easter dinner and outdoor fun. All the "big kids" had their 4-wheelers and dirt bikes while the little kids had powerwheels and coupe cars! The little kids got to do another a Easter Egg hunt and we finally made it home shortly after supper. We were home for about 45 mins. before we loaded back up, and headed to the farm for chores and for Parker to show grandma and grandpa his Easter goodies!

We had a blessed Easter and I hope everybody else did as well!

Blessings,

Fun Baby Shower Hosting

This past weekend I got to host a baby shower for my oldest sister, Emily, who is expecting in June! I am so excited to meet my niece (and spoil her of course)!

My sister has chose to decorate the nursery in purples and grays so the shower was the same colors and brunch was served! We kind of had an "ABC" theme going too! The table centerpieces each had a vintage Golden Book under the mason jars.

Emily gets to keep the little bunting hanging from this food table, it will go in the nursery somewhere.
It was so nice that Emily's step-mom is a caterer so she took care of all food and drinks.
The cupcakes were gorgeous!!! The Daddy To Be's cousin had these specially made and they were beautiful!
Look at all these gifts for the baby girl!! She will be sooo loved.
I don't remember who this afghan came from, but it was beautiful! It will look very cute in the crib too!
Momma To Be is big Packers fan so this wreath was fun!
My Little Man was proud of his marker tower he made while gifts were being opened! :)
This would happen to be the BEST WRAPPED GIFT! I wish that I could take credit for this, but I can't! This is the diaper bag that my sister registered for all filled up and presented amazingly well with lots of cute stuff!
We had so much fun with all the guests creating an ABC book for Baby McDougall. Everybody grabbed a page that had a letter of the alphabet on it. We then decorated it by adding what that letter can stand for and decorated it! I will be laminating all the pages and having them bound into a book for Momma and Daddy To Be to read to their baby girl. Some of the pages were: H is for Hugs, F is for Farm, N is for Nebraska Football :), L is for Love... it will be very fun to read when it's all together!

We also took letters that will hang on the nursery wall and decorated those as well!

All these people to celebrate a new baby... love, love, love!!

Exciting Baby News!

Almost half way through with this pregnancy!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOO!! We are getting closer and closer to meeting baby Hurley #2! We can also start by calling HIM, Noah!

That's right! IT'S A BOY!!!! Another, handsome boy is on his way, and we couldn't be more excited.

We have decided on the name Noah Michael. We have both liked the name Noah for a while, in fact my husband wanted to name our puppy Noah, and I had to object because I wanted to keep the name for any future baby boys we might have! His middle name, Michael, is from my gramps, dad, and brother (that's a lot of boys with the same middle name!)

Of course we are all happy to be expecting another boy, however, Parker keeps referring to him, as "her" or "she". Parker really wanted a little sister, so it may not sink in until little Noah makes his birthday debut.

Now we have to get working on the bedroom for both boys to share, which honestly, will be easier than combining a boy and girl room! HA! (I still hope to have a girl someday though, fingers crossed!)

We have a built in dresser to remove, walls to paint, and carpet to lay down. The fun part will be decorating for both boys! Hoping for a vintage, rugged boy, cattle theme! :)

Anywho--- Our family is super excited and we can't hardly wait to meet baby Noah!
